Pinckney High School Connects with Algerian High School in E3Link Project

Students at Pinckney High School have been participating in the E3Link Project since the start of the program in September 2006. Recently their connection went beyond the PowerPoint presentations they shared with their partner school. They had the opportunity to connect with their Algerian partner school via a video conference. As part of the video conference U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Brighton, made a visit to Pinckney and Ambassador Robert Ford visited the Algerian partner school. Students were able to ask questions of each other to learn more about the other country’s culture. In January Michigan State University received additional funding to continue the E3Link Project that connects schools in the United States with schools in Algeria. The original pilot of the program started with 4 schools in each country. The program has now grown to 20 classes in the U.S. connected with 40 in Algeria. The process is currently underway to turn the project over to the Algerian Ministry of Education who plans to continue the project into the future.
